This single-vineyard wine is grown, vinified, bottled and hand-disgorged on site. Méthode Traditionelle. A testament to the world-class quality of the Pipers River region for sparkling wine production.
From the carefully hand-picked fruit of our mature-aged chardonnay vines, the Delamere Blanc de Blanc reflects our site's distinctive soil and location. Maturation on lees for a minimum of four years is a critical part of Delamere Vineyards' house style. A small percentage of oak matured reserve chardonnay has been blended in to increase complexity and richness. The wine is the epitome of elegance and finesse, displaying rich, toasty and nutty aromas with notes of brioche, earth and sea brine. The palate shows classic cool climate structure; it is long and fine with a creamy mouth-feel that comes from 100% malo-lactic fermentation and careful maturation on lees. A wine of classic structure.

VINTAGE CONDITIONS
The 2008 vintage was characterised by very dry conditions and generally warm temperatures. Bud burst commenced early in 2008 with strong canopy growth by January. Cooler temperatures in late January and early February saw development slow down before a hot spell at the end of February accelerated fruit ripeness considerably. The result has been wines that have developed ripe flavours at moderate potential alcohol with medium to high natural acidity, providing the backbone, elegance and finesse that defines the Delamere sparkling range. The dry conditions throughout the season resulted in very little disease pressure.
